Shaky Ground

What shaky ground you are standing on looking into the coming days that seem dark and bleak?

He stands there with you.

What dream do you chase which you feel it is near your grasp, yet you are overcome by doubt?

He is chasing it with you.

Whom have you lost in your life and weep silently over each night as you fall asleep?

He weeps with you.

What illness has overcome your loved one, for which you realize , as you sit there, that all treatment has been exhausted?

He sits there with you.

Where can you turn as someone you hold dear leaves and goes away?

He is there with you.

“The Lord is my Shepherd…(Psalm 23)

“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.”  (Psalm 91:15)

Tomorrow's Handles

Every tomorrow has two handles: the handle of anxiety and the handle of faith. Which will you use to get a handle of your day? In a day when pressing problems greatly outnumber available solutions where do you turn for stability? You can turn to the handle of faith, and the same refuge which the Psalmist found. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1}

SO SIMPLE

SO SIMPLE

The best parts of life are so very simple with very few needs and seem to come with an overwhelming sense of fulfillment and satisfaction-no matter how big or small our bank accounts, our accumulations or the lists of our accomplishments are. And yet for most of us  the worries and obstacles of today will try their best to contradict and steal from us what we know to be true- that it is in the simple pleasures of life and ultimately in our relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord that we find fulfillment and contentment.

Take it from the experience of the great Saint Paul who declared, “I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.” (Philippians 4:12)
